How you’ll live, feel and transform in the Deep Dive

You wake up in nature, in a campsite set up in the wild — simple, yet thoughtfully comfortable — nestled beneath ancient rock formations. As the first light of sunrise gently touches the landscape, something within you awakens too. The day begins slowly, with a nourishing breakfast.

Everything here unfolds in presence.

We move through the bush in silence. Sometimes on long, unhurried walks where the only sounds are your footsteps and the distant calls of birds and at other times in an open vehicle, the wind moving freely through your hair.
You learn to read tracks in the sand, tracing the quiet stories animals have left behind, feeling the texture of the earth beneath your feet.

Along the way, you meet locals and you sit with them as they share their stories — about the land, about life in the desert and about elephants. You begin to see these animals through a different lens: not just as wildlife, but as intelligent, aware beings, deeply connected to the land and to something greater.

Moments of sharing alternate with moments of stillness. Time to journal, to reflect, or simply to sit and take it all in.

As the day softens, the landscape turns into warm terracotta tones. We watch the sun set over the rocks, perhaps shower under the open sky, before gathering for dinner around the fire. Evenings invite gentle sharing — honest conversations, quiet reflections, or simply listening, held in a space that feels warm, open and real.

Days pass like this — slow, present and deeply connected — guided entirely by the rhythm of nature.

Our elephant experts & your social impact

Our Deep Dive experiences are made even more extraordinary through our collaboration with EHRA (Elephant-Human Relations Aid). They are dedicated to elephants, wildlife and community and also serve as our trusted logistical partner, ensuring the journey unfolds smoothly and seamlessly.

Their work goes far beyond protection. It is rooted in deep respect for the land, in creating harmony between humans and elephants and in preserving the delicate balance of this unique ecosystem. Through their presence, a deeper understanding of nature naturally unfolds; one that is grounded, patient and deeply aware.

Through this partnership, we are not only able to witness elephants up close, but to encounter them with a different awareness; as intelligent, sensitive beings, deeply woven into the fabric of life. It is an experience that stays with you, long after the Deep Dive has come to an end.

Guiding the Journey

Amber Van Gool

Host

Amber, founder of Sielvol Afrika, is the heart and host of the Deep Dive. With over eight years of experience designing soulful travel experiences across Africa, she knows how to craft journeys that touch deeply, spark transformation and awaken intuition. Through her own time in the continent’s untouched wilderness, she has seen how fully stepping into nature strips away the noise of everyday life and reveals who you truly are.

As a certified life coach, Amber has guided both individuals and groups in reconnecting with their inner direction, letting go of limiting beliefs and creating lives that feel fully aligned. Her background as a dancer and teacher brings flow, presence and creativity to every moment, making the Deep Dive both transformative and joyfully alive.

Her guiding belief: the only way out is the way in.

Hendrick Munembome

Hendrick, from the Zemba tribe, is the guide to the wild heart of Namibia. With over 25 years of experience tracking elephants and other wildlife, he brings unmatched knowledge of the land, its rhythms and its stories.

His deep understanding of indigenous belief systems around elephants allows participants to connect not only with the animals themselves, but with the ancient wisdom and spiritual significance they hold for local communities.

He trains communities, especially the Himba people, in dealing with desert-adapted elephants and promoting human-wildlife coexistence in rural Namibia.

As an Indigenous Storyteller, Hendrick uses his knowledge of the Himba culture and their traditional beliefs to help raise awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation.

Itinerary

Day One - 12 April 2026

Step into the Deep Dive

As you arrive at Walvis Bay Airport around 2 pm, where the journey begins, you are warmly welcomed by the Deep Dive team - Amber, Hendrick and our fantastic logistical crew.

From the airport, we set off on a breathtaking drive through Namibia’s ever-changing landscapes; rocky desert plains, dramatic ridges and vast, open skies.

Around 7 pm, we arrive at our first campsite. The first and last campsites are fixed structures, while the ones in between are set up in the wild — simple yet breathtaking, perfectly immersed in nature. Each camp offers comfort and ease, with a private tent, a shower and a toilet.

We settle in, feel the rhythm of the land and begin to leave the everyday behind.

The wide skies, the desert stillness and the gentle sounds of nature invite us to start opening to the experience of the Deep Dive.

Day Two till Day Eight - 13 April till 19 April 2026

Immersion

Over the next days, we will live fully in the wild, immersed in the breathtaking landscapes of Namibia. Each day brings a balance of walking and driving through the bush, tracking, observing desert-adapted elephants and moments of quiet presence to attune to the land and its subtle rhythms.

Along the way, stories, wisdom and insights will be shared about the wildlife, plants and cultural traditions of the region. There is space for reflection, journaling and creativity, as well as shared group moments that allow for conversation, storytelling and learning from one another.

Each evening, we gather around the campfire to pause, reflect and integrate the day — a gentle closing to each day that honors the rhythm of the land, the presence of the group and the journey within yourself.

Day Nine - 20 April 2026

Stepping Back, Moving Forward

In the early morning, the Deep Dive gently begins to close its circle. As the sun rises over the desert, we take our final moments in the stillness of the landscape.

After a last breakfast together, we pack up and begin the drive back to Walvis Bay Airport. The changing scenery passes by once more - rocky plains, shifting sands and endless skies - carrying with it the memories and lessons of the past nine days.

We say goodbye. A farewell that is tender, reflective and full of gratitude for the journey shared. Around 2 pm, we fly out, but with the understanding that this is not the end of the Deep Dive. It is the beginning of a new era. A way of seeing, being and moving through life that continues long after we leave the desert behind.
